The Main Menu
-------------
J - This command is used to change the current conference that you are
in. Most systems that carry echomail support a variety of confrerences supporting many topics. You will be shown a list of the
you will be prompted for the conference area number that you wish to
Join. This command affects the Read, Scan, Pack, and Write commands.
R - Read messages. You will be showed the current message in the
area and will be given a prompt. See the next help topic
for more information.
E - This will allow you to type in a message into the current base. For
more information, please see the help file on entering messages.
S - This will display a quick summary of all of the messages in the
echo mail area. You may list messages to or from you, public messages,
or all (both to/from you and public).
N - This will display a list of all the conferences on the system and
list the number of new messages in each conference since your last
call.
C - This will list all messages to you since the last time you logged
on (actually, it is from your lastread pointer in the area).
B - This will allow you to specify message header criteria. Only messages
that meet the criteria will be displayed when the "next message"
command is entered when reading messages.
P - This command is used to package up your mail into an ".TXT" and
a ".ARC" file which you may download. For IBM and compatible
users, the ".ARC" file is probably the most efficient way to
download your mail, but for users with other computers,
the ".TXT" file is the only one that you can use. The file may be
downloaded from the files section of the bbs.
K - this command deletes the packmail file. (do this before capturing
and messages!)
F - This function will toggle the full screen editor status. it is either
enabled or disabled.
T - This will allow you to set the graphics type you prefer. you will
be given Three options. None, Ascii graphics, and Color Graphics.
Ascii and Color are for IBM compatable computers only!
X - This function toggles the menu display. (sometimes called Expert mode)
I - This is an extremely useful feature which allows you to tell the
"check messages" command to ignore certain areas.
L - (comment). If enabled, this will allow you to enter a private
comment to the sysop of the bbs.
M - This function allows you to create your own Macro that will be inserted
into a message when you type CTRL-N. This is primarily usefull for
storing signatures.
H - This displays the help files you are reading.
Y - This function displays your time remaining.
G - This will bring you back to the main menu of your bbs.
